February Giveaway

I love GIVEAWAY time. I have talked to many artists lately and one of the most common questions that comes up regarding supplies used is, "What white pens work the best on mixed-media collage? Any ideas anyone?" Soooooo, I am giving a pile (a pile translates to more than 10) of different white pens as the GIVEAWAY for February. Leave me a comment as to whether you use white pens in your work, or wish to, or name the ones you can't create without. The winner (sometimes I surprise and choose more than one winner) will be chosen by a number drawing and announced on Thursday, February 29th. I look forward to reading your comments. Best of luck.

Namaste,
Darlene

  1. Hiya Freenie - I love white pens to highlight text in my journals but do have trouble finding one that works well. At the moment I'm using an Inkessentials one and so far so good

Thanks for the chance of winning your prize x Hilda

  2. Hi Freenie
I hardly dare enter again, but also interested in which are better. I invested in a pental, cant say I am doing so well with it though, also use in journal and might use it on other things if I can get to grips with it better. At the moment it has a great use for highlighting eyes.

  6. I love white pens, but seems that nothing works well over many mediums. I have a collection of them (inkssentials, sharpie poster paint, eddings, sakura pen-touch) - I've used even correction fluid when desperate! But I end-up using white acrylic most of the times.

    1. Hi Myrto,
I love to use a tip pen with Golden Fluid acrylic, too. Try (or win) Uniball-Signo, or white China Marker, or Sharpie Mean Streak Marker. I find the dollar Jelly Roll Pens work great on acrylic, but if I've used oil pastel in areas it won't mark.
      Thanks for entering the GIVEAWAY.

  7. My 2 favorites are the UniBall Signo 153, and the white Sakura gelly roll. I do use Sharpies, but they aren't my faves.

    1. Trece,
Sharpies aren't my favorite either...they don't slide across the piece like others do, if you know what I mean.

  9. Hi Darlene - thanks for entering me after I couldn't get in. Turns out it was Google that was playing tricks on me, not your site. :) Seems to be working now.
Anyway, my comments about white pens are that we talk about them so much because they're important to our finished art work to give that "pop"...but if they're cold, or dry, or won't go over certain mediums, it still leaves us on the search for the one that won't let us down! :)
Must say here that I just LOVE all your little drawings. they make me smile. :)

    1. Suzanne and Marrianna,
Oh yes, give those pens a try. I hear people commenting about these particular pens the most. I have a daughter named Suzanne. Lovely name, huh? And we made sure no one nicknamed her Suzie. Happy you visited.

  15. Hi Darlene ... By chance saw your blog on the journal page... How very nice to see your creative work...I love that you've got it out there ... I use white pencils and paint all the time while experimenting since I often draw or paint and use pastels on black backgrounds..I love the dramatic effects... so white pens would also be a great journey for me( Ha Ha)... definitely something I need to look into ..Thanks for sharing... I love the uniball signo and sukura. Both work great and you can trust the lines. Some of the others are kind of hit and miss.
