"Master Artist in Training" with Daniel Edmondson

From here,

To here,

Then this,

And this,

More of that,

To this!
11x14 Oil Painting

Daniel Edmondson has helped me find confidence (well I've cried several times while painting, but the important part is I kept at it) in oil painting. The last time I used oils was when I entered a contest as a senior in highschool. I entered two portraits and both sold, plus one captured a win. Then that was it......until now. I am taking the Art Masters Program with Daniel Edmondson. I have been a subscriber to his website for two years, standing in the shadows and viewing his fantastic "Tips for Painters," then finally I jumped in.

Cheers,
Darlene

HI Cynthia, Appreciate you stopping by and I'm certainly happy you like the painting. I'm also happy I stayed with it to the finish instead of giving up.

This is delicious, Darlene! Congratulations on taking this step. I was in a 3-day oil painting workshop (my first) last week, so I understand the tears. But your persistence paid off. This is a wonderful painting.

THanks Vicki. How cool that we are both using oils. What do you think? Are you going to continue?

Beautiful work Darlene. Oil is a whole different mind set! I am sure your instructor was great, but you brought a lot of talent to the class!

Hello Jackie, So satisfying that I am finally working with oils. Thanks! Talk to you soon on the phone I hope.

I appreciate that Nancy. You're right that oils is a different mindset. I felt like I was using my left hand to paint...but I'm pushing through to learn more.

seriously Darlene, I just want to smell that leaf- is it Basil? Your woodgrain is gorgeous -

Hello Jackie, well this means something to me to have you come back and comment twice.(Smile) The wood I tried to make look like the grain in my antique dining room furniture. I'm pretty proud of the leaves because in my first painting the leaves made me cry. I hate them and almost sustituted something else just to avoid painting them. But you see I didn't. (A lesson in pushing through the fear.) They actually call out too much attention for the overall balance of the painting so I will be enhancing the 3 pears on the right. I could paint grapes all day.

I do like the pears they look alive and I am glad you are gaining confidence and seeing it through to the end (it was worth it) I really like how the back ground lifts the pears in to full view it really works well done you Dxx
