Paint Candy with Miriam Schulman for FREE

"Autumnal Inspirations" course includes this candy painting course plus eight other different courses and dozens of videos by Miriam Schulman.

Hurry! This watercolor candy painting class is FREE until Halloween. This class is part of Miriam Schulman's "Autumnal Inspirations" class, which has many different courses and videos to explore within it.

Also, Miriam is giving away 5 prints of this sweet candy painting. All you have to do is go here    http://schulmanArt.blogspot.com   to sign up, and while you're there join "The Inspiration Place" and take a look at the FREE watercolor course on painting candy. (The FREE course is until October 31st.)You can automatically win a print if you tell a friend about "The Inspiration Place" and she/he signs up for a class, and tells Miriam you sent her/him.

Miriam calls her site "The Inspiration Place" because she has other artists present courses too. So far I've seen mixed media and oils offered along with the watercolors. This is unique because you get all 3 in one workshop, such as the TREE workshop I am currently taking. Miriam is available while you take the courses-which is always a perk to have the instructor involved...plus she will comment about your work. Great stuff over there!

There's more at her place...she requests Artist Interviews and Artist Guest Bloggers. Great avenue for exposure to what you're doing, as well as a place to be introduced to artists.

Hope you'll join her...and tell your friends. Halloween is almost here,
Cheers,
Darlene

More Character Fun

I'm starting to hear a story from these characters. I think they need a background and some props. And perhaps lunch.

Pperdoll Characters

http://willowing.ning.com

These characters were inspired by Tam Laporte at Willowing with her free art class, "Art, Heart & Healing." She also hosts LifeBook, a year long art adventure. Registration is now open and the class starts January 2014.

What a hoot to draw these characters. They remind me of the paperdolls I used to make when I were young. Funny how we circle back around and find our young artist self again and hey, it works for me today.

What creative activities did you do growing up?

Cheers,
Darlene

Stencil Girl Talk

Do you like stencils? Then follow the yellow brick road to Stencil Girl Talk. Mary Beth Shaw has provided an avenue to receive exclusive stencils, artist video showing use of stencils, and a chance to win a piece of art designed by the artist being showcased that month...and this is every month...but only if you're a Stencil Girl Club member. All for $25.

I don't have much experience using stencils. I suppose it is because I used to see them as something to use if I couldn't draw the image I wanted. Things have changed since your mom used a stencil to stamp paint on the border of her bathroom window. The designs are imaginative and creative and they are so versatile. I was missing out.

I recently followed a blog hop that highlighted a set of Pam Carriker's stencils. It was the color wheels. You know I paint with oils, acrylics and watercolors and one area that I would like to investigate further is with color study. I thought if I win I could use these as a base to develop colors. And I won!!! I'll also be able to use them on my journal pages, or even on canvas. Here's what I love about stencils...I can use the entire image or pieces of it. Paints, pens, wood icing, all of this works with stencils. Visit Stencil Girl Talk to see what all of the talk is about.

P. S. Seth Apter has just released 3 amazing stencils. I bought them all. Pam and Seth have bothed invited artists to send them photos of work you have created using their stencils and they may post it on their blog.
