A Quick Sketch

Cleaning my work space and stopped long enough to have a bit if fun with my "writing letters" fountain pen and watercolors. Used a wet brush to make the ink bleed.

Sketching at a Cafe

Today I went to my favorite college campus (Kenyon College in Gambier OH) to sketch. While I was there I had a toasted gluten free bagel with tomato, bacon and cheddar cheese. And a big fat chocolate muffin. Thought it was cool of the cats to show up and provide the gag line.

Is Christmas Over Already...

...because I haven't sent all of my cards out yet.

This really did happen to me this Christmas. No pine smell. We selected our tree at a tree farm, cut it on the spot, and yet there wasn't that burst of pine tree scent in the room that reminds us it is the Christmas season. I did experience a little of that magic Christmas scent on the day I took the ornaments and lights off the tree. The scent of pine finally filled the air so I left it standing naked in my living room for two days just to enjoy it. Now it stands happily on my front porch for the birds. I hang homemade treats on it all winter.

Winter cheer-

Sketchbook Skool Bootkamp

I took the first three fabulous courses when Sketchbook Skool(SBS) www.sketchbook launched in April 2014. Since I completed those three courses, the founders of SBS, Danny Gregory and Koosje Koene have given us a bonus course titled, "BootKamp." To me the word BootKamp doesn't sound like a bonus, it sounds like exercise but hey, it's FREE! Experiencing art through Sketchbook Skool is an exercise. One that I needed to get started again, to really see the world around me in order to get it onto paper. Drawing this crumpled bill was one of the BootKamp assignments. We are reviewing the original courses but going deeper into the experience. Yep, "going deeper" sounds like BootKamp.
