Paper Doll Club

I'm making paper dolls because I am in a paper doll club! Here are the first ones I made for partner Zina Cate. I chose a traditional theme remembering paper dolls I played with as a child.

The paper doll club involves members swapping handmade paper dolls on a monthly basis. The group is hosted by a dear friend of mine and mixed- media artist, Jackie-Paninski-Neal. We've only just begun so if you have questions or would like to join please email Jackie here:

Take a peek at Jackie's creative and beautiful blog world at: Creating Without Crayons   She has recently been published and featured in Stampington magazines.

Our first swap is happening now and we decided to have the theme for the doll open to artist interpretation. My swap friend for this month is the talented Zina Cate. See more of her work and her princess paper dolls here:   Zina Cate Facebook Page

The title of her doll is "Metamorphosis." No more talking...let's take a look at "Metamorphosis."

She is standing on my art table and greets me every time I enter the room.

Soulful eyes and the spirit of creative energy. WOW!

I love this dream.

The skirt has my attention. I love books and I love the work she put into layering the text from a book.

WOW! She is 13 inches tall.

Fancy shoes for dancing the butterfly dance under a full moon.

The detail of this backing is awesome.
Love to you Zina Cate for sending me this original dream doll of yours.  For now she is in my studio but I bet she ends up on my Christmas tree this year! What a joyful creation.

This is a wonderful group of artists that will be sharing paper creations all year! Maybe I'll see there.

Cheers and Hugs,
